Even when it’s going well

Does any of this sound familiar?

It can feel this way even when part of you knows it doesn’t add up, and then you might feel a bit silly on top of it.

Something to get curious about

Is part of you always on guard?

You might notice a part of you that feels safer expecting the worst. Maybe it over-prepares, rereads every email twice, or braces for the moment someone notices. Even when things go well, it may not relax.

You know your story best

Why do I feel like a fraud?

For some people it goes back a long way, to a family where love seemed to depend on getting things right, or to being the smart one, or to being overlooked.

If you’re the first in your family to do this kind of work, there may be parts of you with mixed feelings about how far you’ve come.

At your own pace

How I work with imposter syndrome

As well as talking things through, we can slow down and notice what’s happening for you right now, in your body as much as in your thoughts.

Whatever comes up is met with curiosity rather than judgement, and nothing needs to be rushed or fixed. Over time, there may be more room inside for all of it.

We can meet online anywhere in California or at my office on Market Street, with evening sessions Monday to Thursday.

If part of you isn’t sure this is serious enough for therapy, that part is welcome too.

Dhespina’s therapy office
Dhespina

Hi, I’m Dhespina!

I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, and therapy with me is exploratory and collaborative, with room for reflection, humour, and unexpected moments of insight. I support you in reconnecting with the part of yourself that knows what you need and how you want to heal, even when that part feels difficult to access.

I have trained in Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, and Hakomi Therapy. My approach is relational, somatic, and trauma-informed. This means I do not see therapy as simply a place to talk, but as a space where you can experience new feelings, perspectives, and ways of relating to yourself and others.

Fees & Sliding Scale

My fee is $200 on a sliding scale down to $120. If cost is a barrier, please ask.

Curious whether we might be a good fit?

In the first fifteen minutes, you can tell me a little about what’s bringing you to therapy now, we can get a sense of whether working together feels right, and you can ask any questions you have.
